MUSIC

At St. Clement's, we love music! Here you can find out more about our worship music on a Sunday as well as original work from some of our talented songwriters.

Music on Sundays

On a Sunday we seek to sing a mixture of traditional hymns and modern songs, striving to praise God in a style that is contemporary whilst also biblical in nature.

Check out this recording of Joy To The World, played by our band!

'Be filled with the spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart.'

Ephesians 5:19

In recent years, our music team have started to write and record original worship songs. The first of these, Jesus Be Praised, is a song born from our learning and experience as a church family going through great hardship. The hope is that it will encourage us, and others, to hold fast to God's goodness and to praise Jesus in all situations.

Acoustic Night

Acoustic Night at St Clement's is an evening of story and song, designed to encourage the hearts of those in our congregation and community through the medium of music.

We'd love you check out our most recent Acoustic Night.

Songwriters

As well as collectively writing music for our church family, several of our musicians write music in their own right. You can check out some of their work below!

Sarah Beattie

Sarah is a singer-songwriter who writes songs that are inspired by her beliefs and experiences in the hope that they'll be useful for someone else!

Becky Higg

Becky's music contains both sighs of lament and songs of celebration - a notion of balance perfectly encapsulated by the beautiful words of Charles Spurgeon, "we have far more joys than troubles, so our songs should exceed our sighs."

One of her favourite things to do is to share a little hope and encouragement through story, conversation and song.

Brothers

Henry Alexander leads the worship team at St. Clement's. He and his brother Barnaby have written an album called 'Grace and Peace'. They were inspired by the New Testament book of Ephesians.
